DISCOVER THE BOOK

Welcome to the Clairbois post office

Nilo, a little fox with a blue mailbag, is about to make his first delivery. In the lantern-lit post office, Alba helps him without expecting him to become brave all at once. A letter, its recipient and a small stretch of path: this adventure begins on a child’s scale.

Across twenty-four stories, he meets Mina, Pim and the other inhabitants of Clairbois. A cake falls apart, a friendship needs sharing and a promise needs care. Feelings emerge through everyday gestures, encounters and small events.

The painted scenes invite readers to pause over an expression, a light or an outstretched paw. Each story ends with a page to share: a phrase to remember, a question and a little activity together. Children can speak, listen or keep their answer to themselves.

Nilo, a young fox with a yellow scarf and blue mailbag, receives a letter from Alba the owl in a lantern-lit post office.

Room to grow at your own pace

When a party feels a little too loud

Nilo does not always want the same things as his friends. In this story, the pleasure of being together meets the need for quiet. Look at the characters’ expressions and give the child room to say what they notice.

Shared reading for children aged 4–7

Settle in together, choose a story and give the pictures time. Nilo’s hesitation, Mina’s anger or a party that feels too loud may invite a conversation. Nothing requires a complete explanation: noticing a detail, smiling or returning to a favorite page also belongs to reading. These stories accompany a family moment, without a task to pass or a timed program.
